Minting your mewe group as an NFT
mewe is focused on delivering a truly unique social experience where every user has the opportunity to participate in the experience and value of the platform. By minting your group as an NFT, you are officially registering its ownership on the blockchain and verifying your group ownership.
Minting gives you a Verified Badge on mewe. This is the new version of online verification and grants you verifiable digital rights. It also enables you to add future value and utility to your group.
Prerequisites to Mint for Verification
Before you begin, ensure you have completed the following:
- mewe Digital Wallet: You must have initialized your embedded digital wallet.
- Group Owner Status: Only the primary owner (creator) of a group can initiate the minting process.

💎 Why Mint Your Group?
| Feature | Standard Group | Minted NFT Group |
| Ownership | Platform-dependent | Self-sovereign & Verified |
| Monetization | Premium subscriptions | Token gating & tipping |
| Security | Centralized | Verifiable on-chain identity |
Points to note:
- Transfer of Ownership: If you sell or transfer your Group NFT to another user, they will automatically gain full Owner permissions within the mewe app.
-
Private vs. Public: Minting a private group does not make your posts public. Only the existence and ownership of the group are recorded on the ledger; your content remains encrypted and private.
